Speech

Presentations are speeches which a topic is told and explained or presented to an audience. There are two types of people in this world, some who mind public speaking and some who don't. This was actually my topic in the book chapter presentations. Im in Group one and we were assigned chapters one thru four. I also spoke about what could the worst scenario be while public speaking. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld had an opening monologue in which he said “The number two fear people have is death. The number one fear is public speaking.” I thought it was pretty cool how they incorporated that into the book because i watch his television show and I'm familiar with who he is. I also get very nervous when I'm about to give a  speech, I'm a sweaty palm type of girl but I feel like once I start getting into it I start feeling more comfortable. i was also assigned do people really speak anymore? Many people thought the new technology would eliminate public speaking but on the contrary, speakers are more in demand than before. We have public speakers all amongst us and we may not even notice. For example, at my job the head Doctor often speaks about different drugs in different events to a group of people. Sometimes we go out to public places or sometimes we just host them right here in the office. My group also spoke on what is the presentation process. The process involves a few ways of communications like interpersonal, group or digital communication. I also learned about what kind of topics one should talk about like choosing vital topics that focus on important issues. I also learned a few things you should avoid in presentations like exhausted topics, insulting the audience and plagiarism. Janelys made a slide on how to reduce the fear of presentations and I feel like that was great to share because im Sure most of us were nervous prepping to do the presentations and even nervous during the process. All four tips were very useful and I feel they were also true. The more knowledge you have on the topic of discussion the more comfortable one should feel. We listed tips on how to prepare the first presentation like to be organized and practice what you will be talking about. We also spoke about there being three different types of speeches which are informative, persuasive and occasion. There is about eleven of us in the group and we distributed the work load evenly between all of us. I really liked the energy my group had, I feel like we were organized and prepared for the presentation. All of the other group member did a great job reading and explaining their slides. Having a group leader makes everything easier. It helps us keep organized and focused. We had a nice flow to the presentation and everything went smoothly.

Group two

Group two was in charge of chapters five thru nine. The first chapters focused more on the research one does while preparing for a speech or presentation. You can use different resources like libraries, personal experiences and the internet. They also spoke on organizing and outlining your presentation. They were able to explain why organization is so important, it helps everything flow and helps listeners better understand the presentation. Chapter Seven was about delivering speeches effectively, there are five modes of delivering which are memorized speech, manuscript speech question and answer, impromptu speech and extemporaneous speech.Chapter eight spoke about choosing your words, they spoke to us about the importance of choosing your words wisely and respectfully. You don't want to come off rude or arrogant to y our audience. The last chapter for this group was on technology. This was very interesting because it showed us how technology plays a role in presentations. In presentations people often have charts or graphs and tables even pictures, all those things are created with technology. Social media is a big source people use to express themselves and communicate with others and it's a part of our everyday lives now. As far as the actual presentation goes they all did very well. Everyone in the group provided us with so much valuable information we can use towards our future presentations.

Group three

This group was in charge of chapters ten thru twelve and the appendix. In chapter ten we learned how to help people learn and that is mostly done with informative presentations. There are 5 principles of learning which are build on the known, use humor and wit, sensory aids, organize to optimize learning and last reward the listeners. They also spoke on how to present for different occasions or topics. It's also very important to make sure you have the right crowd for the presentation, that you are giveng them something they need or are interested in. They spoke about persuasive speaking or presentations and tips on how to persuade your audience. They went on to teach us how critical thinking can improve the message you're trying to give to the audience. I also learned about special occasion presentations which are a little more formal and professional.  This group also did an amazing job presenting, they gave us a lot of information on different types of presentations I had no idea even existed. I love that all the slides were the same color background and font, it made it feel all together.

In conclusion, all of the groups did an amazing presentation and it's a great way to go thru the chapters of the book in a creative way. All the groups were very organized and the leaders in charge of sharing the screen did a great job keeping up changing the slides while we presented. All the slides were very informative and some were very creative and colorful. I enjoyed watching the videos everyone posted, it's so much fun to learn this way rather than just reading the book the old fashioned way. This was a great activity to get us all out of out comfort zones and learn tips for our future presentations. I learned a lot of new things and will be applying all this information for my future presentations or speeches.

Group 1       For this presentation, the group that I am in, group 1, was tasked with presenting on the topic of AI in both education and sports, and whether or not it has proven to be a benefit or negative to both fields.. Since our group has 11 people, we decided to split the work by having six of us work on the topic of education, and the five others working on sports. We decided to organize our presentation by first showing how AI is used in education, and the positive and negative effects it has had on the field. We talked about how AI has allowed for students to be more connected with their working, aiding during the pandemic to make remote learning easier for both students and teachers, while also talking about some of the problems like privacy issues AI may have. We also discussed how Florida was handling the use of AI, with the use of modern technologies being endorsed by the government, while also being monitored with the regard that it may be used as a t...

Artificial intelligence leverages computers and machines to mimic the problem solving and decision making capabilities of the human mind. We had three groups do fantastic presentations on Artificial intelligence and how they are affecting or changing different topics for the better or for the worse.  The first group that presented was group three. This group was assigned to speak about Artificial intelligence in social life, entertainment, and potential careers. I learned during this presentation that some people are all for the upcoming changes while some others are not. Artificial intelligence is starting to become more involved in all categories, In social life and entertainment including television and writers AI generative systems are predicted to write scripts for TV shows. These systems will be able to generate actors and add diversity and very realistic imagery. There are some advantages and disadvantages, for example it generates almost instantly and for a fraction of the ...

Reflecting on the group's presentation Reflecting on Group 1's presentation Reflecting on Group 1's presentation on  integrating artificial intelligence in education and sports, I must  deeply appreciate  the insightful exploration of its influence over the past five years. The advancements in educational technology, especially the development of intelligent tutoring systems and AI-facilitated administrative tasks, have enhanced the learning experience.  Undoubtedly, artificial intelligence has been a game-changer in educational settings, introducing intelligent tutoring systems that have markedly improved student engagement and motivation. These systems represent a leap forward from conventional educational approaches, offering tailored learning experiences to students.  Over the previous five years, my observation s affirm AI's evolution from a conceptual novelty to an effective pedagogical instrument within classrooms. However, the recent presentatio...
